WEDNESDAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE | TV SHOWS I BINGED

I am big on TV, especially right now, for obvious reasons. I do like a good binge, and there are several shows I have binged in the past, or would binge if I could stop myself watching the episodes right away! Here are some of my more recent picks (or re-watches):

Dear White People

I like that this show is entertaining, brings up a lot of the microaggressions white people don’t always see, and that it also shows some of the complexity of navigating race from multiple perspectives.

911 and 911: Lone Star

These two are probably my favourites at the moment. They have edge-of-your-seat plots, great ongoing storylines, and characters you’ll really care about. But what I love most is that both have good diversity representation (racial stereotyping is avoided, there are lots of women in traditionally male jobs, there are gay and transgender characters, a disabled character, a mom working as the head paramedic while her husband stays home, and a bunch of other examples, particularly in 9-1-1 Lone Star), tackle important issues like domestic violence, addiction, trauma, racism, sexism, prejudice and so much more.

The Chicago Trio (Fire, PD, Med)

I’ve been watching these since the beginning. Fire is my favourite – I like the characters better and care more about the plotlines. PD is my second choice, but I still have trouble with Voight based on his treatment of Casey on Fire. Med is good, but a bit too much about the love lives of the characters and the petty dramas than I’d like. But the three together are some shows I definitely won’t miss!

Bulletproof

I love this show because, even though it’s not believable at all, it’s a helluva lot of fun. The dynamic between these two is great, the crime dramas are usually entertaining and each season is different from the one before.

Those are just a few – there are so many more I’ve watched and am still watching, but I’m sure you’re all busy and can’t spend all day here!

Do you guys watch any of these? Which shows are you obsessed with right now?

I accidentally started it late one night… and that was the end of sleep! Thank you – I have now added it, it was just a busy day today, and I can schedule posts to publish, but not to link! 😉
