WEEKLY UPDATE | AND WHAT A WEEK IT WAS

I missed this week’s My Week On Wednesday post, but I’ve had quite a week, you guys. The first and most exciting thing, is, of course, the launch of this new blog! It’s been quite the journey to get to this point. I might write a full post about the process, but suffice it to say that it has been a hazardous and at times hopeless journey. But I’m here now, and I’m finally feeling pretty good about my new setup!

Of course, it hasn’t been a seamless transition. I need to go through all my old content post by post to update image and URL links – so if you’ve noticed some missing images and broken links in the blog, please bear with me – I’m getting them updated as quickly as I can!

In other news, I had a wisdom tooth removed last Friday. On the plus side it didn’t hurt nearly as much as I expected, but the combination of antibiotics and after-effects of general anaesthetic left me feeling absolutely horrible for a few days. Not to mention mourning my new lack-of-tooth.

The thing that’s been getting me through is a stack of books I’m so excited to read! I picked up Sarah Winman’s new book (along with one of my favourite Bookjig bookmarks and the newest issue of Bookmarks Magazine), and received review copies of some books I know are going to be amazing. wind-pinball

This arrived earlier this week courtesy of Random House Canada. I’ve started it and have such high hopes. This will be my second Murakami, but certainly not my last if the little I’ve read so far is anything to go by.

And a wonderful surprise hit my mailbox on Wednesday, again thanks to the lovely folks at Random House Canada:

I have to admit that I’ve never read any Franzen, but he’s been on my TBR forever. So far this book has been difficult to put down, and though it’s long, I have a feeling it’ll go quickly once I really get into it. The moral of my week? The book fairy is WAY better than the tooth fairy.

Thanks for being patient with me during my transition to my new blog, and I can’t wait until everything is updated and I can get back to focusing on writing posts!

What have you guys been up to this week? Are you reading any exciting books you can’t wait to enthuse about and fall all over the place getting everyone else to read? Share in the comments!

The new website looks great! It might have been painful at times (not unlike getting teeth pulled??), but I’m sure it’s been worth it.

I’m so excited that someone else has a Bookjig bookmark. I’ve always been one of those people that sees a bookmark I like and then has to have. I use it for about half a book and then get sick of it falling out etc. But ever since I’ve had my Bookjig I haven’t bought any other bookmarks – it’s just the best. Clip it on and leave, and I feel a little bit fancy with that ribbon hanging down out of my book!

Loving the new blog design – everything is looking great! Glad you’re recovering well from your procedure, wisdom teeth are a bitch! I had mine out when I was 18, the day after my childhood dog died, and so things were EXTREMELY dramatic when I was coming out of anesthesia – to say the least.

Wow – very busy week! Wisdom teeth surgery recovery is so annoying – I hope you feel back to 100% soon!

Love the new blog identity – congrats!!
