WWW WEDNESDAY #24

It’s time for this week’s WWW Wednesdays, hosted by Should Be Reading blog (head over and check them out!).

This link up asks three questions

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll be reading next?

Here are my WWW answers!

What did I recently finish reading?

I finished both of these a little while ago. Forever… was, believe it or not, the first Judy Blume book I recall reading. It’s possible I read one in high school, but let’s face it – that was a while ago, and I just can’t remember. But as someone who enjoys YA, I felt like it was time.

Gone Girl has been on my list for far too long, after I was gifted a copy by Martha for Christmas. Finally got around to it because my friend Lin wanted to read it too, so we were able to chat about it – which makes all the difference!

What am I currently reading?

I am reading waaaaaay too many books right now! I’m reading A Complicated Kindness with Karen, because we both enjoyed All My Puny Sorrows. I just got Landline, and obviously I can’t wait to dive right in (RAINBOW. ROWELL. ‘Nuff said.). And my friend Bia (who I’m trying reeeeeeally hard to convince to do a guest post here) really enjoyed Slammed, so I’m reading that – plus we both got The Stranger on the Train and started it on our most recent reading date. So yeah, just a few!

What do I think I’ll be reading next?

Well, it’s going to take me a while to get through the ones I’m reading now – but I think these two are the most likely on my TBR list!

Phew. So I’ve got my work cut out for me! What about you guys? Which books are you into at the moment? //<![CDATA[ var sc_project=10144299; var sc_invisible=1; var sc_security="82f610c9"; var scJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? I just love that cover! So evocative of summer. Which, you know, PERFECT. I haven't started it yet, so we'll see if the story lives up to the cover! I've already started Landline, which I'm liking so far. The main character, for some reason, keeps making me think of Tina Fey – so, you know, great! I just know it's going to tear my heart out, smoosh it up, and put it back in upside down at some point though, because it's Rainbow Rowell, and that's what she does. She smooshes our hearts and makes us LIKE it. 🙂

Hmmmm. Yes…ish? The writing totally drew me in, and there were so many great twists and turns to the plot. I think that the last quarter of the book or so is an acquired taste, though. I think it was smartly written and conceived, but that you'll have people who LOVE the ending and people who HATE the ending. I tended towards the latter, which somewhat muddied my opinion on it! Definitely worth giving it a try if you like complex mysteries with a psychological element to them.

I've started it and so far I'm digging it. I mean, it's a bit depressing, but kind of good depressing. If that makes sense? But then, I knew I'd love it. It is RAINBOW ROWELL after all. 🙂
